Project Summary:
The Cove, Fay and Waverley Street Water Main Replacement Project, was created to provide additional fire suppression and service volumes to the surrounding areas. Throughout extensive studies and tests, including “Hydraulic Modeling & Design” and field investigations, these areas were determined inadequate for today’s standards.
Project Details:
The results attained by replacing existing 60-100 year old 6” cast iron water mains with larger 8” ductile iron cement lined pipe, greatly increased capacities “volume”, c-factor “flows”, residual pressures and water quality throughout these surrounding areas. In addition to the water improvements, the safety and esthetics of these roadways within the scope if this Project will receive full restoration in the Spring of ‘09, to include a curb to curb 1 1/2 “ mill and final overlay.
Prior to the end of this ‘08 calendar year based on recent extensive field investigations due to the nature of select roadway material within the project scope, special conditions for road restoration will be performed. This restoration work will include Fay Road, Weybossett Avenue and Daytona Avenue. These roads are currently being prepared for roadway resurfacing.
